for our third instalment on mars recordings weve decided to go for transparent green vinyl! this has nothing to do with aliens, we wouldnt be that obvious, but its the colour chosen by the artists and we think it looks like another great mars package. musically, well edward oberon & paul t have conjured up 2 awesome tracks. >love is< is absolutely sublime with its warm bass line and delicate sounds to the breakdown, while keeping the drums nice and punchy, a great tune to roll out. >absolute< harks back to the deep sounds of old good looking by the likes of big bud or tayla. ridiculous sub-lo bass and deep strings, this is how mars do things and we feel its another quality 12 inch where the music & the packaging matter.

the time has now come for eklektisch to unveil release number 006 and a debut from melohman & javi bora (20:20 / upon you). staying true to the label s ethos, the pair harnessed the warmth of the summer and with flurry of piano chords, created another feel good dancefloor anthem in >you love you<.
the first of the remixes sees label boss edu imbernon pay tribute to his summer on the white isle with his villaimberlove remix. a weighty kick drum, spritely key melody and fiercely plucked strings make for a more driving version of the original.

after the success of the last 2 asc singles for samurai red seal and the flood of quality music that was arriving in our inboxes from the man, it was inevitable it was time for another shot of this uk born, california residents vision. the horo vinyl series appealed to asc instantly being a man from a strong techno background and an avid vinyl collector himself. >no secrets< is one of those tunes that touches you deeply without you realising, echoing in your subconscious and drawing you back for repeat listens. >zenith< picks up where >bleep test< left off, stuttering timeless breaks patched together with diving bass and percussive polishes to produce a unique sound that takes the past and hurls it into the future.

this ep was formed with a concept in mind that involves a natural phenomenon occurring in various/different fields of science and nature - anti-parallelism. as the word suggests, anti-parallelism describes the natural relationship between two occurrences, objects or even non-material things, that are virtually identical and yet oriented in different directions. during the time the music was made i was researching natural phenomenons like this one. naturally, this became part of the nucleus, fabric and inspiration for this work. in genetics, for example, if the antiparallelity is corrupted during the process of dna replication it is called a mutation. this mutation can be anything from totally inconsequential to critical for the survival of the whole living organism. a double helix of dna contains two helixes, that are naturally anti-parallel to one another. in physics this could be two of the same objects moving through space and time in opposite directions - just like the instruments or parts of a beat in electronic music production. so metaphorically speaking,anti-parallelism holds a natural balance to keep it safe and stable. although this might sound all very conceptual and theoretical this music is obviously just what it is - it is not intended to teach math, physics or biology in any way. the above mentioned aspect has simply found its way through my head and might have led to a piece of music that somehow, at least for me, is connected to these thoughts. it might evoke something very different for you.

another raw techno basics va for the collection. four names that are currently really doing well within the sound. if youre into that peek time dark and funky techno this is a release for you. the a side contains david moleon and iago de la vega teaming up for some funky action while the b side contains a darker daisychain track and an anthem by thermo.

a mixture of classic and modern day techno styles tsi returns with another two track 12inch that becomes the 4th volume of the series. “chordrophonic” is a powerful hypnotic chord dub driven affair whilst “sentiment of pity” takes a different path with staccato acid lines, spacey melancholic string pads and pounding tribalesque tom driven drum rhythms.

the >spectrum riff< ep comes from moscow based beat maker and full time firefighter alexander goryachev, otherwise known as 813. five original tracks bursting with juicy synth lines, retro drum machines and waves of thick sub bass, culminating in a sound that is one part boogie, one part hip hop, one part electro and three parts forward thinking bass music. slugabed (ninja tune) appears on remix duty with a drum heavy workout full of shuffling percussion, deep basslines and strong melodies. 813 has been operating in the much talked about russian beat scene for a couple of years, appearing on error broadcasts >fly russia< compilation and kicking off the rad collective label with the >back in space jungle< ep. he has another ep on rad dropping this year along with other projects and collaborations in the pipeline. as a live act he has supported moby, doom and hudson mohawke. the spectrum riff ep has been a long time in the making, its been worth the wait.

is it balearic continue a very fine run of form, with another essential 12 from newcomer aihki, featuring a great rework from canadas hottest disco export eddie c! aihki is a helsinki based duo consisting of magnus blomkvist & tuomas soppela. tuomas and magnus met one dark day at the local zoo engaging in some reindeer spotting. both magnus and tuomas had an enormous love for reindeers and folk music so they decided to form aihki. after extensive crate digging and an endless amount of guitar lessons their first ep was ready. inspired by the bright summer nights and the equally dark winters in the nordic region the sound differs a bit from the traditional balearica. besides aihki, tuomas has the estupido machine and magnus run the nerd network club nights in helsinki. another fine package from iib!

another hard rockin house ep with some hints of disco & 90s club music on this nice little label. after various collaborations in the past it is now time for the >collaborations ep<. instead of boring you with describing how the claps and the bass lines work together, lets just mention how the tracks happened and with who maxim collaborated on this e.p.

tamed music had a flying start with their debut release (ft one of our favorite ripperton tracks and topped with a fresh skudge remix!). and no disappointment for the second release either! ripperton comes with another vocal track (vocals by van hai) that is more house orientated as the previous release, but still has that nice moody laidback vibe of the tmq001. almost dubby feel combined with the gentle voice of van hai makes it a standout release. comes with hot remix action of margaret dygas and iron curtis. sweet package ... expected to sell out as rapidly as the the first tamed music!

kowton and tom dicicco, residing in bristol and manchester respectively, make very different music from one another. kowtons seems to come from house, perhaps also electro and garage, often quite slow in tempo and hard to pin down to a specific genre. toms music is techno, bass heavy, melodic, textured and rooted around 125 bpm. with these distinctive styles the idea of a split ep might seem ambitious, but the result is four cohesive but different tracks that show the talents of both artists perfectly in the format of two originals on one side and two remixes of each others originals on the other. tom diciccos original is driven by a low-mid range thick stab and pounding kick drum, littered with intricate but not overbearing hi hat and snare work and some very atmospheric mid range. kowtons is subtle and sparse, low fidelity and plodding, with rattling percusion carrying the tune along. on the other side of the record, kowtons remix of toms original is driven by an enormous bassline, with an off kilter dubby feel to the slow tempo and genre defying tune. toms remix of kowton rounds off the ep with a return to stab driven techno, pulsating, dynamic and trance inducing.

after a short break aaron jays influence records is back with another top draw 12 from none other then liquid master random movement. having released an album on markys innerground label last year, random movement was keen to drop a 12 inch on influence and what a 12 it is. both sides are dance floor killers, both on heavy rotation at fabric and have been supported by the likes of spy, fabio, lynx, grooverider & bailey.

clone classic cuts serves another cult italo disco classic! gorgeous female vocals slapped on that lovely 80 s synthesizer/drum programming. this is one of those releases that easily makes it into the top 50 of all time greatest italo disco songs. produced by roberto ferrante (also known for his pinneaples project) and originally released on the obscure airport label in 1984. we managed to restore and re-master the original versions and the lovely paris mix. on top of the original versions we serve you a new re-rub by italian italo specialist bottin (eskimo, artifacts etc). bottin did a great job with a new crazy soundhack mix that cranks up the energy level and makes it more jackin. pretty amazing when you realize that these tracks are making people dance for 28 years now. more then enough reason for a proper re-release on high quality vinyl. enjoy!

nice price deal !!! another critical release,following the deadly djs pareja single of last month. perfectly timed and cued after the recent raudive long-player on stefan goldmanns macro label. raudive is oliver hos darker, more new-wave operative, and these latest productions have caught the attention of the folks at history clock - and its a perfect alliance. the levels ep is a debased mix of sleazy, after-hours acid-dancehall with the icy cool of minimal, machine-music dynamics. essential, in a word.
